Early Life and His Start in Movies
Boots Plata was born Marcelino Victoriano in Quezon City. He became a well-known name in the Philippine movie industry. He directed the popular 1999 film Isusumbong Kita Sa Tatay Ko. This movie starred famous actors Fernando Poe Jr. and Judy Ann Santos.
Before he passed away, Boots Plata had a special wish. He wanted to be cremated, and his ashes scattered in the Pasig River. His friend, showbiz columnist Ethel Ramos, shared this. She said many wondered why he chose the Pasig River. Perhaps he had many good memories of that place. He also asked his wife, Dolor, not to hold a wake. Instead, he wanted his friends and family to have a party to celebrate his life.
Boots Plata's Movie Career
Boots Plata made more than 10 films as a director. Most of these movies were made during the 1990s. His first movie as a director was "Naked Island (Butil-Ulan)" in 1984.
He also wrote two movie scripts:

Later Years and Passing
