Boronda is a small community in Monterey County, California, United States. It's known as a census-designated place (CDP), which means it's an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. In 2020, about 1,760 people lived there. Boronda is located right next to the city of Salinas. It was named after José Eusebio Boronda, a ranch owner from the past, and sits on land that was once part of his large ranch.

Boronda Meadows Elementary

Boronda Meadows Elementary School opened its doors in 2005. It is part of the Salinas City Elementary School District. When it first opened, it had 571 students from kindergarten to sixth grade. By the 2016–17 school year, its enrollment grew to about 730 students.

Boronda DIA (Dual Immersion Academy Salinas)

The original Boronda School, located on Fontes Lane, closed at the end of the 2005 school year. Many of its students and teachers moved to the new Boronda Meadows school. Later, in 2015, the Salinas City Elementary School District reopened the old Boronda School building. It was renamed "Dual Immersion Academy Salinas" or DIAS-Boronda. This school is a special "magnet school" that focuses on teaching students in two languages (dual immersion). In the 2016–17 school year, about 100 students were enrolled there.
