Botha is a small community called a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada. It is part of the County of Stettler No. 6. You can find Botha about 88 kilometers (55 miles) east of Red Deer. It is also just 13 kilometers (8 miles) east of Stettler.
History of Botha
Botha started as a community in 1909. It grew up around a train station. This station was named after a person called Louis Botha.
On September 5, 1911, Botha officially became a village. It stayed a village for 106 years. Then, on September 1, 2017, Botha changed its status. It stopped being a village and became a hamlet again. Now, the County of Stettler No. 6 looks after it.
