Where is Boulder Hill?
Boulder Hill is located at coordinates 41°42′41″N 88°20′07″W. It covers a total area of about 1.45 square miles. Most of this area is land, with only a tiny part being water.
For many years, Boulder Hill had a small central area. People living here feel a strong sense of community. They often say they are from Boulder Hill, not from nearby towns like Montgomery or Oswego.
Even though Boulder Hill is not an official town, its mail comes through the Montgomery Post Office. This can sometimes cause confusion. Most local services for Boulder Hill come from Kendall County or Oswego Township.

The community has four churches and a grocery store. There is also a small shopping area and a gas station. Boulder Hill has three schools: two elementary schools and one middle school. There is also a place for retired people to live.
Most of the land in Boulder Hill is already built on. There isn't much empty land left for new buildings. The towns of Oswego and Montgomery have grown right up to Boulder Hill's edges. This means there isn't much space for new businesses to open. Most businesses in Boulder Hill are actually part of the village of Oswego.
Because Boulder Hill is not an official town, it doesn't have its own local government. In the past, this meant property taxes were lower. However, taxes have gone up recently. This is because local groups like the Oswegoland Park District and the Oswego School District have grown. They need more money to serve the growing communities around Boulder Hill.
