Boyd Gilmore was an American Delta blues musician. He was a singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He was born in 1905 or 1910 and passed away in 1976. Boyd Gilmore wrote songs like "All in My Dreams" and "Believe I'll Settle Down." He also recorded a famous blues song called "Ramblin' on My Mind." This song was originally by another blues artist, Robert Johnson. People described Boyd Gilmore as a very energetic singer.

Life and Music of Boyd Gilmore
It's not fully clear when Boyd Gilmore was born. Some records say he was born in 1905 near Inverness, Mississippi. Other records suggest he was born on June 12, 1910, in Belzoni, Mississippi. His parents were Sam Gilmore and Luella Bryant.
Early Recordings
Boyd Gilmore recorded his song "Ramblin' on My Mind" on January 23, 1952. This recording happened at the Casablanca Lounge in Greenville, Mississippi. He sang the song, and Ike Turner played the piano. Jesse "Cleanhead" Love played the drums. The song was released by Modern Records. The other side of the record had a song called "Just an Army Boy."
During the same recording session, Gilmore recorded other songs. These included "All in My Dreams" and "Take a Little Walk with Me." These songs were also released as a single by Modern Records.
Later Recordings and Performances
In July 1953, Gilmore recorded "Believe I'll Settle Down" for Sun Records. This was in Memphis, Tennessee. He played with Pinetop Perkins on piano and Earl Hooker on guitar. Willie Nix played the drums. However, this song was not released at that time.
After his short time recording, Gilmore played music in places called juke joints. These were small clubs in the Mississippi Delta. He also performed often in St. Louis, Missouri, and Pine Bluff, Arkansas. During this time, he sometimes lived in an abandoned house. In Pine Bluff, Gilmore often played with Houston Stackhouse. They had played together before in the early 1950s. He often performed at a small club called Jack Rabbitts.
In the late 1960s, Boyd Gilmore moved to California. He lived there until he passed away on December 23, 1976. He was buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Fresno, California.
