Brad Falchuk went to Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He graduated from there in 1993. Later, he earned a master's degree in screenwriting. He got this from the AFI Conservatory.

His Amazing TV Career

Starting Out and Glee

Brad Falchuk began his TV career as a writer. He worked on shows like Mutant X in 2001. He also wrote for Earth: Final Conflict and Veritas: The Quest.

In 2003, he started working on the show Nip/Tuck. There, he became good friends with the show's creator, Ryan Murphy. They became a strong team. Falchuk and Murphy wrote a TV show idea called Pretty/Handsome. It was about a transgender doctor. The FX network bought the idea in 2008. But the show was never made into a full series.

As Nip/Tuck was ending, Falchuk and Murphy looked for a new project. They wanted to create something more lighthearted. They teamed up with Ian Brennan. Ian had written a story about high school show choirs. They pitched their idea for a show about a glee club to the Fox network. The idea was a hit! It became the TV show Glee. It first aired in 2009.

Glee was very successful. Falchuk, Murphy, and Brennan were nominated for awards. They were recognized for Best Comedy Series and Best New Series. After Glee became popular, Brad Falchuk signed a big deal. This deal meant he would keep working on Glee. He would also create other shows for the studio. Glee ran for six seasons. The final episode aired in March 2015.

Horror, Comedy, and More Shows

In 2011, Brad Falchuk created another show with Ryan Murphy. It was a horror-drama series called American Horror Story. This show is an "anthology series." This means each season tells a different story with new characters. The first season was very popular. It received many award nominations. Falchuk was nominated for awards too.

Brad Falchuk is also a producer for American Crime Story. This show started in 2016. Falchuk, Murphy, and Ian Brennan also created Scream Queens. This was a horror-comedy show. It ran from 2015 to 2016. The first season was set on a college campus.
