Brandon Kyle Bowman (born October 15, 1984) is an American professional basketball player. He is known for playing as a power forward or center. Currently, he plays for Maccabi Haifa in the Israeli Liga Artzit. Before becoming a professional, Bowman played college basketball at Georgetown University.

Early Life and High School Career

Brandon Bowman grew up in Beverly Hills, California. He attended Westchester High School in Westchester, California. During his senior year, he was a key player, averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds per game. He helped his team achieve an amazing 32–2 record. They won the California State Division I-A Championship. His team was even ranked No. 1 in the USA by USA Today.

In 2002, Brandon was part of the USA Team. They competed in the International Albert Schweitzer Youth Basketball Tournament in Mannheim, Germany.

College Basketball Journey

Brandon Bowman played college basketball for the Georgetown Hoyas from 2002 to 2006. He was a very important player for his team.

Junior Year Success

In his junior year, Bowman was recognized as a third-team All-Big East Conference player. This means he was one of the top players in a very strong college basketball league. He was the team's top scorer, averaging 15.1 points per game. He was also the second-best rebounder, grabbing 6.1 rebounds per game.

NBA Draft Consideration

After his junior year, Brandon thought about entering the 2006 NBA draft. However, he decided to stay at Georgetown for his senior year. He rejoined his teammates and continued to play well.

Senior Year Highlights

In his final college season, Bowman averaged 11 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. One of his most memorable games was when the Hoyas beat the undefeated #1 ranked Duke Blue Devils. In that big upset, Brandon scored 23 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Brandon Bowman began his professional basketball career. He has played for many teams around the world.

Starting in the NBA D-League

After the 2006 NBA draft, Brandon joined the Portland Trail Blazers for the NBA Summer League. He later signed with the New Jersey Nets but was waived. In November 2006, he was drafted by the Bakersfield Jam in the NBA D-League. He played for the Jam again in 2007.

Playing in Europe and Asia

Bowman has played for many teams in different countries. He has played in Italy, Germany, Turkey, Bulgaria, France, and Serbia. He also played in Israel for teams like Maccabi Rishon LeZion and Hapoel Gilboa Galil.

In 2012, he played in the Korean Basketball League for Wonju Dongbu Promy and Seoul Samsung Thunders.

Success in New Zealand and Cyprus

In 2014, Brandon played for the Wellington Saints in New Zealand. He helped them win the NZNBL championship. He was also named to the New Zealand NBL All-Star Five in 2019.

In 2015–16, he played for AEK Larnaca in Cyprus. He helped them win the Cypriot League championship in 2016.

Return to Israel and Recent Years

Brandon signed a two-year deal with Maccabi Haifa in Israel in 2017. He had a career-high game with 30 points for Maccabi Haifa. He was named the Israeli League Round 3 MVP for that performance. He has also been an Israeli League All-Star twice (2012, 2018).

In recent years, he has played for teams like Maccabi Rehovot in Israel, the Hawke's Bay Hawks in New Zealand, and Gießen 46ers in Germany. Since 2023, he has been playing for Maccabi Haifa again.

Personal Life

Brandon Bowman's parents are Tom and Sharon Bowman. He has three brothers named Tom, Stephan, and Zach, and one sister named Nicole. He is also related to former NBA players Antoine Walker and Samaki Walker, who are his cousins.
