Brandon Lamont Moore (born June 3, 1980) is a former American football player. He played as an offensive guard for 10 seasons. Most of his career was with the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL).
Moore joined the Jets in 2002. He was not chosen in the draft, so he signed as an undrafted free agent. This means he was able to sign with any team after the draft. Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini. In 2013, he was going to play for the Dallas Cowboys, but he decided to retire instead.

Brandon Moore's College Football Journey
Brandon Moore went to the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. There, he played defensive tackle for the Fighting Illini. A defensive tackle is a player who tries to stop the other team from running the ball.
He was a starting player for three seasons. In his final year, he was named All-Big Ten. This means he was one of the best players in the Big Ten Conference. Moore earned his bachelor's degree in English from Illinois.

Playing for the New York Jets
Brandon Moore started his NFL journey with the New York Jets. He signed with them on April 26, 2002. At first, he spent time on the practice squad. This is a group of players who train with the team but don't usually play in games. He also played for other teams like the Scottish Claymores and the Carolina Cobras.
Moore first played in an NFL game in 2003. He appeared in three games and started one. In 2004, he became a regular starter, playing in 13 games. He helped running back Curtis Martin become the top rusher in the NFL that year. The Jets let Moore go in 2009, but they signed him again the very next day.
After many years of being a top player, Moore was chosen for his first Pro Bowl after the 2011–2012 season. The Pro Bowl is an all-star game for the best players in the NFL.
Moore is also remembered for a famous play called the "Butt fumble". This happened during a game against the New England Patriots in 2012. On this play, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez accidentally ran into Moore and dropped the ball. The other team then picked it up and scored a touchdown.

On August 7, 2013, Brandon Moore signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys. However, he soon announced his retirement. He said he couldn't bring himself to leave his family to play.
