After a great first year in college, Pirri decided to become a professional player. He left RPI to join the Rockford IceHogs. This team plays in the American Hockey League (AHL), which is a league below the NHL. He signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks, who had drafted him earlier.

Later Years and Reaching Milestones
In 2017, Pirri tried out for the Florida Panthers again. He competed in their training camp and pre-season games. However, he didn't get a contract with the team at that time.
A few days later, on October 4, 2017, he signed a one-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights. On April 3, 2018, Pirri was called up to the NHL by the Golden Knights. He scored two goals in a game against the Vancouver Canucks. This game was special because it helped him reach 100 career points in the NHL!
