Early Life and Career
Brenda Levin was born in New Jersey. She studied graphic design at Carnegie Mellon and New York University. Later, she studied architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
In 1976, she moved to Los Angeles. She worked for another architect, John Lautner, for two years. Her first big project in Los Angeles was helping to fix up the James Oviatt Building. She worked with a developer named Wayne Ratkovich on this project. This led to many more projects with him, including the Wiltern Theatre and the Fine Arts Building. In 1980, she started her own company, Levin & Associates.
