Brent Steven Scott (born June 15, 1971) is an American who used to play professional basketball. He was a tall player, standing 6 feet 10 inches (208 cm) and weighing 250 pounds (113 kg). Brent played as a center on the court. After his playing career, he became a basketball coach. Brent is currently an assistant coach for the Penn State team.

Brent Scott has had a long and successful career in basketball. He played college basketball in the United States. Then, he went on to play professionally for many years. After retiring as a player, he started coaching.
College Years
Brent Scott played college basketball at Rice University. He was a key player for the Rice Owls team from 1989 to 1993. His time in college helped him prepare for a career in professional basketball.
Playing Professionally
After college, Brent Scott became a professional basketball player. He played 16 games with the Indiana Pacers during the 1996–97 NBA season. In those games, he averaged 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds.
Brent also played basketball in many other countries. He played in Poland for Anwil Wloclawek. He spent time in Spain with teams like Tau Cerámica, Real Madrid Baloncesto, and Polaris World Murcia. Brent also played in Italy for teams such as Olitalia Forlì, Viola Reggio Calabria, and Snaidero Udine. His career also took him to Greece, where he played for Gymnastikos S. Larissas, PAOK, and AEK Athens.
Coaching Career
After his playing career ended in 2007, Brent Scott began coaching. On June 25, 2007, he became an assistant basketball coach at his old college, Rice University.
He then worked as an assistant coach at Louisiana State University (LSU) and TCU. At both schools, he worked under head coach Trent Johnson. In May 2016, Brent returned to Rice University as an assistant coach. He joined Mike Rhoades' staff there. In March 2017, he moved with Coach Rhoades to VCU, where he continued as an assistant coach until 2023. Since 2023, Brent Scott has been an assistant coach for the Penn State team.
