Brent Steven Scott, born on June 15, 1971, is an American basketball coach and former professional player. He used to play in the NBA. Brent was a tall player, standing 6 feet 10 inches (208 cm) and weighing 250 pounds (113 kg). He played as a center. Today, he is an assistant coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions basketball team.
Playing in College
Brent Scott played college basketball at Rice University. This is where he started to show his skills.
Professional Basketball Career
Brent Scott played 16 games with the Indiana Pacers during the 1996–97 NBA season. In those games, he averaged 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds.
He also had a long and successful career playing basketball in other countries. He played professionally in:
- Poland for Anwil Wloclawek
- Spain for teams like Tau Cerámica, Real Madrid Baloncesto, and Polaris World Murcia
- Italy for teams such as Olitalia Forlì, Viola Reggio Calabria, and Snaidero Udine

Coaching Career
After his playing days, Brent Scott became a basketball coach.
- In 2007, he returned to his old college, Rice University, as an assistant basketball coach.
- He then worked as an assistant coach at Louisiana State University (LSU) and TCU. He worked under head coach Trent Johnson at both schools.
- In 2016, he went back to Rice University again to join Mike Rhoades' coaching staff.
- In March 2017, he moved with Coach Rhoades to VCU to continue as an assistant coach.
- Since 2023, Brent Scott has been an assistant coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions.
