Brian Matthew Chase, born on October 8, 1981, is an American professional basketball player. He played for many teams during his career, most recently for Olimpia Basket Matera in Italy. He is known for his skills as a Point guard.

College Basketball Journey

Brian Chase played college basketball for Virginia Tech from 1999 to 2003. During his four years with the Virginia Tech Hokies, he was a key player. On average, he scored about 10.9 points, grabbed 2.8 rebounds, and made 1.9 assists per game.

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Brian Chase was not chosen in the 2003 NBA draft. However, he still started his professional basketball career.

Early Career in the ABA and CBA

In the 2004–05 season, Brian joined the American Basketball Association (ABA) team, the Maryland Nighthawks. He played 13 games, averaging 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. The next season, 2005–06, he started with the Gary Steelheads in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).

Playing in the NBA D-League

In March 2006, Brian moved to the NBA D-League and played for the Roanoke Dazzle. He finished that season with the Nebraska Cranes in the United States Basketball League (USBL). For the 2006–07 season, he signed with the Utah Jazz, an NBA team, but was later released. He then joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the D-League. There, he averaged 16.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. His great performance earned him a spot in the NBA D-League All-Star Game.

Before the 2007–08 NBA season, Brian signed with the Miami Heat. However, he returned to play for the D-Fenders. In March 2008, he moved to Turkey to play for the Turkish Basketball League club Beşiktaş Cola Turka.

Playing in Europe

Brian Chase continued his career in Europe during the 2008–09 season. He played in France for Le Mans Sarthe Basket. In the French Pro A league, he averaged 13.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. He also played in the Euroleague, where he averaged 12.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 10 games.

In February 2009, he moved to Russia to play for BC Dynamo Moscow. While there, he averaged 18.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 4 Eurocup games.

Brian spent the entire 2009–10 season in Spain, playing for CB Valladolid. He averaged 10.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.

At the start of the 2010–11 season, he moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina and signed a one-year contract with KK Igokea. In January 2013, he signed with Vanoli Cremona in Italy. On January 24, 2015, he signed with Eisbären Bremerhaven in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga. He last played for Olimpia Basket Matera.
