Playing Basketball in College
Brian Chase played college basketball for the Virginia Tech Hokies from 1999 to 2003. During his four years there, he was a key player. He scored about 10.9 points per game, grabbed 2.8 rebounds, and made 1.9 assists. These numbers show he was a well-rounded player for his college team.
Brian Chase's Pro Basketball Journey
After college, Brian Chase was not chosen in the 2003 NBA draft. This means he didn't get picked by an NBA team right away. But that didn't stop him from playing professionally!
Starting in the ABA and CBA
In the 2004–05 season, Brian joined the American Basketball Association (ABA) team called the Maryland Nighthawks. He played 13 games and showed off his skills, averaging 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.
The next season, 2005–06, he started with the Gary Steelheads in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). Later that season, he moved to the NBA D-League (now called the G-League) to play for the Roanoke Dazzle. He also played for the Nebraska Cranes in the United States Basketball League (USBL) that same year.
Playing in the NBA D-League and Beyond
For the 2006–07 season, Brian signed with the Utah Jazz, an NBA team. However, he was released before the regular season ended. He then joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA D-League. He had a great season there, averaging 16.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. His excellent play earned him a spot in the NBA D-League All-Star Game in 2007, which is a big honor!
Before the 2007–08 NBA season, Brian signed with the Miami Heat, another NBA team. But he returned to play with the D-Fenders again. In March 2008, he made a big move overseas to play for Beşiktaş, a team in the Turkish Basketball League.
Playing Basketball in Europe
Brian Chase continued his basketball career in Europe.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina: At the start of the 2010–11 season, he moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina and signed a one-year deal with KK Igokea.
- Croatia: In 2011, he played for KK Cibona in Croatia.
