Brian Connelly (born June 10, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey player. He plays as a defenseman, which means he helps protect his team's goal. Brian is currently with EHC Lustenau in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL). Before that, he played for the Nottingham Panthers in England.

Brian Connelly's Hockey Journey
Brian Connelly started his hockey journey playing college hockey. He played for Colorado College in the WCHA. He was known as a defenseman who was good at moving the puck and helping with offense.
Starting Professional Hockey
Even though Brian was not chosen in the NHL Draft, he signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. He played for their team in the minor leagues, the Rockford IceHogs. Brian quickly became a key player for the IceHogs. He was one of their main defensemen who scored points.
In the 2010–11 season, Brian was chosen to play in the AHL All-Star Game. This is a special game where the best players from the league get to play together. He was picked again for the All-Star Game the next season.
Moving to New Teams
In February 2012, Brian was traded to the Calgary Flames. He then played for their minor league team, the Abbotsford Heat. Brian helped the Heat reach the second round of the playoffs. That season, he had 52 points, which was the second-highest for a defenseman in the AHL. Because of his great play, he was named to the AHL Second All-Star Team.
In July 2012, Brian signed a new contract with the Minnesota Wild. He played for their minor league teams. In February 2014, he was traded back to the Chicago Blackhawks organization.
Playing in Europe
After playing in North America, Brian decided to play hockey in Europe. In July 2014, he signed with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League. His first season there was a bit tough, as he scored only 2 goals and 12 points in 48 games.
Looking for a fresh start, Brian moved to Austria in May 2015. He signed with EC Red Bull Salzburg, a champion team in the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). He played four seasons in the EBEL league.
In June 2019, Brian signed with the Nottingham Panthers in England. He played one season there before moving to EHC Lustenau in the Alps Hockey League in June 2020.
