Brian Connelly (born June 10, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey player. He plays as a defenseman, which means he helps protect his team's goal. Brian currently plays for EHC Lustenau in the Alps Hockey League (AlpsHL). He also played for the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

Brian Connelly's Hockey Journey
Brian Connelly started his hockey career playing in college. He played for Colorado College in the WCHA. He was known as a defenseman who was good at moving the puck and helping with offense.
Starting Professional Hockey
Even though Brian was not chosen in the NHL draft, he signed a contract with the Chicago Blackhawks. He joined their minor league team, the Rockford IceHogs. Brian quickly became a key player for the IceHogs, scoring many points from his defense position.
Becoming an All-Star
Brian's skills were noticed, and he was chosen to play in the AHL All-Star Game in both 2011 and 2012. This is a special game where the best players from the league compete. In 2012, he was traded to the Calgary Flames organization. He then played for their minor league team, the Abbotsford Heat. That season, Brian scored 52 points, making him one of the top defensemen in the AHL. He was even named to the AHL Second All-Star Team.
Moving to New Teams
After his time with the Flames, Brian signed with the Minnesota Wild in 2012. He played for their minor league teams, including the Houston Aeros and the Iowa Wild. In 2014, he was traded back to the Chicago Blackhawks organization for a short time.
Playing in Europe
In 2014, Brian decided to play hockey in Europe. He signed with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League. After one season in Sweden, he moved to Austria. He joined EC Red Bull Salzburg, a top team in the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL), in 2015. Brian played four seasons in the EBEL before moving to England.
Playing in England and Austria Again
In 2019, Brian signed with the Nottingham Panthers in the English Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He played one season there. In 2020, he returned to Austria to play for EHC Lustenau in the Alps Hockey League, where he plays today.
