Brian Ferlin, born on June 3, 1992, is an American former professional ice hockey player. He played as a winger for the Boston Bruins team in the National Hockey League (NHL). The Bruins chose him in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Brian Ferlin's Hockey Journey

Starting Young in Florida

Brian Ferlin began playing ice hockey when he was just five years old. He started his hockey journey in Jacksonville, Florida. Later, he moved to Indianapolis for his last two years of high school.

College Hockey and Early Success

After high school, Brian played college hockey for the Cornell Big Red men's ice hockey team. They were part of the ECAC Hockey group. In 2012, he received the Greg Ratushny Award from Cornell. This award is given to the most promising new player.

Before attending Cornell University, Brian played junior hockey. He played with the Indiana Ice team in the United States Hockey League. His excellent play during the 2010–11 season earned him a spot in the 2011 USHL All-Star Game.

Joining the Boston Bruins

On April 11, 2014, after finishing his college career, Brian Ferlin signed a contract with the Boston Bruins. This was his first professional hockey agreement.

In the 2014–15 season, Brian started his professional career. He played for the Providence Bruins, which is the Bruins' team in the American Hockey League (AHL). On February 20, 2015, Brian played his very first NHL game. This game was against the St. Louis Blues. Just two days later, on February 22, 2015, he earned his first NHL point. This happened when he got an assist in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Retirement from Hockey

On July 1, 2017, Brian signed a new contract with the Edmonton Oilers. He played in seven games for their AHL team, the Bakersfield Condors. After these games, he decided to retire from professional hockey.
