Brian West, born on June 10, 1978, in LaGrange, Georgia, is a retired American soccer player. He mostly played as a striker, which is a forward player who tries to score goals.

Brian West's Soccer Journey
Brian West started his soccer career playing college soccer at the University of Virginia. He played there for two years.
Joining Major League Soccer
After his second year of college, Brian decided to join Major League Soccer (MLS). He was one of the first players to be part of the "Project-40" program. This program helped young, talented players join professional teams in the MLS.
Brian played for the Columbus Crew for six years. During his time with the team, he scored 18 goals and helped his teammates score 29 times.
Life After MLS
Brian was the first "Project-40" player to finish college. He earned a degree in Information Systems from Ohio State University.
After the 2003 season, Brian left MLS and moved to Norway to play for Fredrikstad FK. He later retired from soccer because of injuries. Today, he lives in Fredrikstad and works in the stock market.
Playing for His Country
Brian also had the chance to play for the US national soccer team. His first game for the national team was on April 26, 2000, against Russia.
He played his last international match on April 3, 2002. In that game, the US team won 1–0 against Mexico.
