Brian West's Soccer Journey
Starting in College Soccer
Brian West began his soccer journey playing college soccer. He played for the University of Virginia for two years. After his second year, he decided to join Major League Soccer (MLS). He was one of the first players to join through the "Project-40" program. This program helped young players move from college directly into professional soccer.
Playing for Columbus Crew
West then played for the Columbus Crew team for six years. During his time with the Crew, he scored 18 goals in league games. He also helped his teammates score by making 29 assists. An assist is when a player helps set up a goal for another player.
Education and Moving to Norway
