She also starred on the reality TV show Sisterhood of Hip Hop. In 2016, Brianna left the big record company Atlantic Records. She decided to work with her own independent label, Poe Boy Entertainment, instead.

Brianna Perry's Music Journey

Starting Her Music Career

When Brianna Perry was just 7 years old, she made her first recording. This happened at the Poe Boy Music Group studios. Her uncles helped her with this. Because she visited the studio often, she caught the attention of rappers Trina and Trick Daddy. Trina then offered Perry a recording deal with Diva Records.

After that, Perry appeared on BET's show Rap City. She made her rapping debut on Trina's album Diamond Princess on the song "Kandi." This performance got the attention of Missy Elliott. Missy Elliott signed Perry to her label, The Goldmind Inc.. She also featured the young rapper in many concerts with herself and Timbaland.

Perry also appeared in some of Missy Elliott's projects. She was in the music video for "Pass That Dutch" and in Elliott's short TV show, The Road to Stardom with Missy Elliott. During this time, Perry worked on her first album. It was planned to have forty songs, all produced by Elliott and Timbaland. However, this album was never released. In 2006, Perry and Elliott decided to go their separate ways. They remained friends.

In 2007, Perry prepared a mixtape called Princess of Miami. She worked with Slip-N-Slide recording artists and her former mentor, Missy Elliott. In 2008, Perry announced she was working on an album called Girl Talk. She also planned a movie project with actor Frankie Muniz. But neither of these projects were released. In 2009, Perry moved to Flo Rida's label, International Music Group. There, she released a mixtape called The Graduation. She also released a song called "Boom Shacka," but it was not a big commercial hit.

Working with Atlantic Records and TV Show Appearances

In 2011, Perry left Flo Rida's group. She continued to work with her long-time family label, Poe Boy Music Group. That same year, Perry released the song "Fly Kicks" with a music video. The video was shown on BET's show 106 & Park. This helped her get a contract with Atlantic Records. It also created enough excitement for her to make the mixtape Face Off.

On December 20, 2011, Perry released the song "Marilyn Monroe." The song was produced by Cainon Lamb, who often worked with Missy Elliott. The song was well-received by other musicians, including Beyoncé. Beyoncé even featured the song on her official website. In 2012, Perry worked with SWV on "Do Ya." She also collaborated with Pusha T on "Red Cup" and Victoria Monet on "Hate Ya Past." "Hate Ya Past" was featured on Perry's mixtape, Symphony No. 9: The B Collection. Perry also worked with Trina again on a music video called "Girl Talk."

In June 2014, Perry became a regular cast member on the Oxygen reality TV series Sisterhood of Hip Hop. Some of her new music was shown during the episodes. In 2016, she released a song that featured her co-star Lee Mazin. She also appeared in a series with Live Squad. In August 2016, she released the song "Something To Live For" which featured Stacy Barthe.
