Brittney Bear Hat grew up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This area is part of the traditional lands known as Treaty 7 territory. Her mother is from the Siksika First Nation. Her father is from the Blueberry First Nation in northern British Columbia.
Brittney often works with her sister, Richelle Bear Hat. They create art together.
