Broughtown is a small village found on the island of Sanday, which is part of Orkney, Scotland. This village is located within the area known as Cross and Burness.
Getting Around Broughtown
Right next to the eastern side of Broughtown, you'll find Sanday Airport. This makes it easy for people to travel to and from the island. Just a little to the south of the village is another place called Kettletoft.
Roads and Connections
Two main roads help people get around Broughtown and the rest of Sanday. The B9068 road goes right through Broughtown. It connects Kettletoft in the south to Scar in the north.
Another important road is the B9070. This road starts in Broughtown and heads southwest. It goes past Braeswick and continues south to Spur Ness. This is where the ferry terminal for Sanday is located, connecting the island to other places.
