Bruce is a town in Mississippi, United States. It is located in Calhoun County, right next to the Skuna River. In 2020, about 1,707 people lived there. The current mayor of Bruce is Jimmy Hubbard.

A Look Back at Bruce's History
Bruce got its name from E. L. Bruce. He started a company that used a sawmill to cut wood. Even today, cutting and processing wood is a very important business in Bruce. A big company called Weyerhaeuser has a mill here. There are also other businesses in town that work with wood and trees.
Where is Bruce Located?
Bruce is found in the northern part of Calhoun County. A main road, Mississippi Highway 9, goes right through the middle of town. This highway can take you to nearby towns. For example, it goes south about 4 miles (6 km) to Pittsboro, which is the county seat. It also goes about 10 miles (16 km) south to Calhoun City. If you head northeast, it's about 31 miles (50 km) to Pontotoc.
Another road, Mississippi Highway 32, crosses Highway 9 in Bruce. This road leads east about 21 miles (34 km) to New Houlka. Or, if you go northwest, it's about 26 miles (42 km) to Water Valley.
Land and Rivers
The town of Bruce covers an area of about 2.4 square miles (6.3 km2), and all of it is land. The Skuna River flows just south of the town. This river is a branch of the Yalobusha River, which then flows into the Yazoo River.

Bruce High School is known as a Level 5 High School. This is the highest academic ranking a school can get in Mississippi! Bruce and Calhoun City High are both District 2A schools. Vardaman High is a District 1A school.
Sports Achievements
The Bruce Trojan High School baseball team won the 2A State Championship in 2012. The Bruce Lady Trojan High basketball team were 2A State Champions in both 1998 and 2002. The Bruce Trojan High School football team also won the 2A State Championship in 1996.
Brad Logan is a member of the school board.
