Brunswick's Story: How It Began
Brunswick was started on January 1, 1815. It got its name from a contest, and the winner picked "Brunswick" after a city in Germany called Braunschweig.
It officially became a village on February 1, 1960. Later that same year, on October 2, 1960, it became a city.
On June 23, 2014, a strong tornado hit Brunswick. It was rated as an EF1 or EF2 tornado.
