The Story of Bruster's
Bruce Reed, the person who started Bruster's, learned about the food business when he was a kid. In the 1950s, he helped his parents at their diner called Jerry's Curb Service. This diner was in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, a small town near Pittsburgh. His dad taught him many important things about running a restaurant.
In 1989, Bruce Reed opened his own ice cream shop right next to his parents' diner. After about 15 months, his ice cream shop officially became known as Bruster's.
Bruster's also started letting other people open their own Bruster's shops. This is called franchising.
