Bryan Wong's Career Journey
Bryan Wong started his career as a child actor in 1981. He appeared in many popular children's shows on the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation. As a teenager, he also worked as a model and did commercials.
Early Days in Television
In 1994, Bryan joined Television Corporation of Singapore (TCS) as a full-time artist. Before that, he worked briefly as an interior designer. His first job as a host was for a show called Gen Y, which was about teenage lifestyle. However, he became well-known to TV audiences through the show City Beat in the late 1990s.
At first, Bryan was not as popular as his co-hosts, Kym Ng and Sharon Au. They were winning awards, but he wasn't. He later shared that he thought about quitting many times. But he had to keep working to support his family.
Moving to SPH MediaWorks
In 2000, Bryan and some other artists left TCS to join a new company called SPH MediaWorks. While at MediaWorks, he became very popular for co-hosting Snap on Channel U with Kym Ng. People really liked their teamwork. In 2002, he was even nominated for Best Entertainment Presenter at the Asian Television Awards.
In 2005, MediaCorp (which took over from TCS) merged with MediaWorks. Bryan was one of 19 artists who moved to MediaCorp.

He played the main character in MediaWorks' last drama series, Zero. He also acted in Honour and Passion alongside actors like Tay Ping Hui and Rui En.
Success as a Host at MediaCorp
After returning to MediaCorp, Bryan became even more successful as a host. He co-hosted a very popular home makeover show called Home Decor Survivor (摆家乐) with Mark Lee. For this show, he won his first hosting award, the Best Variety Show Host award, at the 2006 Star Awards. In 2012, he won the Favourite Variety Show Host award, which was decided by audience votes. He even beat a very popular star, Fann Wong.
In 2019, Bryan Wong also directed a short film called The Playbook. It starred Ayden Sng and Sheila Sim.
