Bryce Dane Soderberg, born on April 10, 1980, is a talented musician and songwriter from Canada. He is most famous as the bassist and singer for the American rock band Lifehouse.
Early Life of Bryce Soderberg
Bryce Soderberg was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. He grew up just outside Victoria in a place called Sooke. Bryce started playing the bass guitar when he was quite young. He learned a lot about music by playing with his brothers in their basement.
After finishing high school at St. Michaels University School, he went to college in Quebec for two years. When he was 19, he moved to Los Angeles, California. He wanted to become a professional musician.
In 2002, Bryce joined a band called AM Radio. This band was managed by Rivers Cuomo, who is famous from the band Weezer. After their record company closed, AM Radio broke up. During this time, Bryce also sang and wrote songs for other groups like The Celebrities and Tomorrow And Everyday After.
In August 2004, Bryce joined Lifehouse. He joined them after a former band member suggested him.
Bryce Soderberg and Lifehouse
After Bryce joined Lifehouse, the band went on tour. They also released their third album, which was self-titled, Lifehouse. A very popular song from this album was "You and Me."
Between their tours, Lifehouse released two more albums. These were Who We Are and Smoke And Mirrors. Bryce Soderberg sings the main vocals on the song "Wrecking Ball" from the Smoke and Mirrors album. He also helped write that song. He shares the lead vocals on another song called "Here Tomorrow and Gone Today."
When Bryce plays bass, he uses special Rickenbacker and Fender basses. He connects them to Ampeg SVT Classic Heads and large 8x10 speaker cabinets. Sometimes, during live shows, Bryce also sings the lead vocals for the song "Bridges."
Bryce Soderberg's Side Project: KOMOX
Bryce Soderberg also has a side project called KOMOX. It's an alternative band based in Los Angeles. He works on this project with two other musicians, Pelle Hillström and Kris Persson.
In January 2016, KOMOX released their music called Dreaming Awake, Vol 1. One of Bryce's songs, "Stardust," was originally written for KOMOX with Pelle Hillström. A new version of "Stardust" was later included on Lifehouse's 2015 album, Out of the Wasteland.
