He spent seven seasons in the top basketball league, the National Basketball Association (NBA), playing for teams like the Houston Rockets and Washington Bullets. After his time in the NBA, he continued his basketball career for ten more seasons, playing for different teams in other countries around the world.

Playing in the NBA

Buck Johnson was a top pick in the 1986 NBA draft. The Houston Rockets chose him in the first round as the 20th overall pick. He played in the NBA for seven seasons, from 1986 to 1993.

He played for the Houston Rockets from 1986 to 1992. Then, he joined the Washington Bullets for the 1992–93 season. His best year in the NBA was during the 1989–90 season with the Rockets. That year, he played in all 82 games and averaged 14.8 points per game. In his entire NBA career, Buck played in 505 games and scored a total of 4,617 points.

After his NBA career, Buck Johnson continued to play professional basketball overseas. He played for many different teams in top leagues around the world. Some of the teams he played for include:
