Buffalo Bill's is a fun hotel and casino in Primm, Nevada, United States. It's located right on the border with California. This exciting resort is part of the Primm Valley Resorts, owned and operated by Affinity Gaming. Buffalo Bill's has 1,242 guest rooms and suites, making it a big place to stay!

The hotel is famous for its thrilling Desperado roller coaster. This ride has a huge 225-foot drop and can go up to 80 miles per hour! There's also a fun log flume ride and a swimming pool shaped like an buffalo. The hotel has two main towers for rooms: the Annie Oakley Tower and the Buffalo Bill Tower. It's named after the famous American figure, Buffalo Bill.

The resort also has a large gaming area, with many different games to play. Buffalo Bill's is home to the Star of the Desert Arena, a big place with 6,500 seats where concerts and shows are held. Buffalo Bill's closed for a while in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nevada. It reopened in December 2022 after some updates. However, the roller coaster did not reopen at that time.

Discovering Buffalo Bill's History

The resort first opened its doors on May 14, 1994. It started with 592 hotel rooms. A new section with more rooms was added in 1995.

On April 10, 2007, the ownership of Primm Valley Resorts changed. It went from MGM Mirage to Herbst Gaming. A special event was held at Buffalo Bill's to celebrate this change.

Herbst Gaming wanted to make the resort welcoming to many different visitors, especially those from California. They added staff who spoke Spanish and arranged bus trips from the Inland Empire area. They also hosted concerts by the musician Ramón Ayala and opened a Mexican restaurant named after him.

The inside and outside of the resort were even used in a movie! It was featured in the film Top of the World in 1997. Until 2019, the roller coaster usually ran only on weekends.

In March 2019, a restaurant called Cuca's Mexican Food opened inside Buffalo Bill's. This was their first hotel location in Nevada.

Buffalo Bill's closed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Nevada. During this time, it got many updates, including new restaurants and new gaming machines. It reopened on December 23, 2022. When it reopened, the roller coaster remained closed.

The Famous Car Exhibit

A very famous car is on display at Buffalo Bill's. This is the car linked to the historical figures Bonnie and Clyde. It was shown at another nearby resort, Whiskey Pete's, before the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 1990s, the car was displayed at Primm Valley Resort and another casino in Verdi for several years. It then returned to Whiskey Pete's in 2011. Later, in late 2022, it was moved to Buffalo Bill's, where you can see it today.

Exploring with the Primm Valley Tram

There was once a special tram that connected Buffalo Bill's to the nearby Primm Valley Resort. This tram had several cars, and each car could hold 24 people. A full tram could carry 96 people at once! It was designed to move many visitors quickly, about 2,200 people per hour in one direction. Even though a computer controlled the tram, an attendant was always there to supervise.

After getting off the tram at the Primm Valley Resort, visitors could walk to another free tram. This second tram crossed over the highway to Whiskey Pete's. However, both of these tram services have not been running since the mid-2010s.
