History of Buhler, Kansas
The first post office in Buhler opened in 1888. This was the same year the city was founded.
Many of the first families to settle in Buhler were Mennonites. They came from Russia in the 1880s, seeking new homes.
City Seal Redesign
In 2012, the city of Buhler received a letter about its city seal. Some people felt the seal's design might not follow the rules about government and religion.
After looking into it, the city decided to change the seal. They wanted to avoid any legal problems. In 2013, they held a contest to create a new city seal. The new design would not include any specific religious symbols.
