Bullabulling is a small place in Western Australia. It was once known as "Bulla Bulling" until 1944. This townsite is about 526 kilometers (327 miles) east of Perth. You can find it along the Great Eastern Highway in the Goldfields-Esperance region.

Exploring Bullabulling's Past

Bullabulling became an official town in 1898. At that time, about 160 people lived there. Most of them were men, likely working in the goldfields nearby.

The Rock Hotel

A very important building in Bullabulling was the Rock Hotel. It was also called the Rock Tavern. This hotel was a popular stop for travelers on the highway. It closed down around 2015.

Water for the Goldfields

Bullabulling plays a key role in providing water to other towns. It is home to a special reservoir. This reservoir is part of the Goldfields Water Supply Scheme. This amazing system brings water to dry areas.

How Water Moves

From Bullabulling, water moves to Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie. It does this without needing pumps! This is because the water "gravitates." This means it flows downhill naturally, using gravity.

A Place of History

In 1996, Bullabulling was recognized as a place with important cultural heritage. This means it has historical value. It is a site that helps us understand the past of Western Australia.
