History of Burchard Village
How Burchard Started
Burchard was officially planned out in 1881. This happened when the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad built its tracks to this spot. The community was named after a local religious leader.
Becoming a Village
Just a few years later, in 1884, Burchard officially became an incorporated village. This means it gained its own local government.
