On January 19, 1942, a sad event happened near Burravoe. A Catalina aeroplane crashed. This plane crashed on the hill above the community. Seven of the ten crew members sadly lost their lives. As a reminder of this event, one of the plane's propellers can be seen. It is displayed outside the Old Haa Museum. It stands as a memorial to those who were lost.
