Bushells is a well-known Australian company. They make popular drinks like tea and coffee.

The Bushells Story

Bushells started a long time ago in 1883. A man named Alfred Bushell opened a small tea shop in Queensland, Australia.

His business grew, and his sons decided to expand it. In 1899, they moved the company to Sydney. There, they began selling tea to many different stores. This made Bushells Australia's very first company to sell tea on a large scale.

They set up a tea factory on Harrington Street in Sydney. They also had a special place to roast coffee beans. This coffee department was located in an area called The Rocks.

Bushells Today

Over the years, Bushells kept growing. In the 1980s, they started making more types of coffee. They sold these under the "Bushells Coffee" name.

Later, in 1998, some changes happened. A company called FreshFood Services Pty Ltd bought the Bushells Coffee brand. They also bought the Bushells Coffee business in New Zealand. However, the Bushells tea brand stayed with another company called Unilever.

Today, Bushells coffee is still made in a factory in Concord, Australia.
