Bárbara Ernestina Torres was born on April 11, 1971, in Mar del Plata, Argentina. She is a talented actress from Mexico. Bárbara is famous for her work in television shows, movies, and plays. Many people know her best for playing the character Excelsa in the popular TV series La familia P. Luche. She also appeared in shows like Hospital El Paisa and VidaTV.

Bárbara Torres: Her Early Life and Career

Bárbara Torres grew up in Mar del Plata, a city in Argentina. It is about 254 miles south of Buenos Aires. Even when she was in high school, Bárbara was very dedicated to her studies. She went to the Colegio Superior de Piano in Mar del Plata. From there, she graduated as a piano teacher. She started working when she was just 17 years old.

Moving to Buenos Aires and Studying Acting

After finishing high school, Bárbara moved to Buenos Aires. This is where she decided to follow her passion for acting. She joined the Cunill Cabanellas National School of Dramatic Art. This was a big step in her journey to become an actress. She worked very hard and earned two degrees from this school. She got a degree in Dramatic Art, which taught her how to act. She also earned a degree in Pedagogy, which means she became a theatre teacher.

Starting Her Acting Journey in Mexico

In 1998, Bárbara made a big move to Mexico. She first went there to work in TV commercials. However, her career took a different path. She tried out for a role at Televisa, a major TV company. They were very impressed and hired her! This led to her joining the cast of La familia P. Luche. This show was created by Eugenio Derbez. Bárbara worked on this project for ten years, until the series ended.

Bárbara's Work in Theatre and TV Shows

After La familia P. Luche, Bárbara continued to be very busy. From 2013, she performed for two years in a play called Por qué las mujeres aman a los pendejos. In this play, she played a character named Inés Table, who was a psychoanalyst. She toured all over Mexico with this play, alongside actor Juan Frese.

In April 2014, Bárbara received an award in Monterrey. This award celebrated 1,850 performances of another play she was in. The play was called Claudio, ¿eres... eso?. It was about fighting against discrimination towards the LGBT community. In 2015, she worked with Daniela Luján in Blanca Nieves: El Musical. This musical was performed on Sundays at the Julio Prieto Theater.

Bárbara also appeared in other TV shows. She worked on the series Burócratas Inc. She also took part in the late-night talk show Estrella2. Both of these shows were created by Israel Jaitovich. Bárbara even had her own theater show, which she called The Excelsa show. She also acted in the play Caperucita Roja with Javier Carranza.

In 2023, Bárbara was part of a reality TV show. It was called La casa de los famosos México. This show is from the TelevisaUnivision company. She finished in 9th place overall on the show.
