Cadbury Snack facts for kids
A Cadbury Snack is a yummy treat! It's usually a shortcake biscuit square, or sometimes two biscuits with chocolate filling. All of this is covered in delicious milk chocolate.
The Story of Cadbury Snack
In the United Kingdom and Ireland, you could find a few types of Cadbury Snack.
- Snack Shortcake had chocolate-covered shortbread. It came in a yellow wrapper.
- Snack Wafer was made of chocolate-covered wafer fingers. This one had a pink wrapper.
- Snack Sandwich was a bar with chocolate and biscuit, a bit like the old Jacob's Club biscuit.
Sadly, Cadbury stopped making the Snack Wafer in February 2015. This was because not enough people were buying it anymore.
Back in the 1970s, there was also a Cadbury Snack Finger. These were chocolate-covered fingers in a blue wrapper, similar to Cadbury Fingers. In the 2000s, Cadbury also made special limited edition versions of Snack.
How Cadbury Snack Was Advertised
Cadbury Snack has been advertised on TV for a long time! In the 1950s and 1960s, the TV ads were in black and white. Then, in the 1970s, color ads started appearing. In 1986, a TV ad used the catchy phrase "Bridge the Gap." Later, in the 1990s, there were fun cartoon adverts for Cadbury Snack.
Cadbury Snack in Australia
In Australia, the Cadbury Dairy Milk Snack is a bit different! It's a chocolate bar with six pieces. Each piece has a different flavor inside. The flavors are:
- Strawberry
- Pineapple
- Orange
- Coconut ice
- Turkish delight
- Caramel
Each square piece also has a different shape to match its flavor. You could find these bars in 135-gram (4.8 oz) and 200-gram (7.1 oz) sizes.
This special Australian version started being made in 1974. Before that, a company called MacRobertson's made a similar chocolate. In June 2009, Cadbury made the bars a little smaller.
