Cade is a small community in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, in the United States. It is known as a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it's an area that the U.S. Census Bureau identifies for gathering statistics. It is not an officially incorporated town.

In 2014, about 1,188 people lived in Cade. By 2019, this number grew to an estimated 1,655. The most recent count in 2020 showed the population was 1,874 people. The community uses a single ZIP code, which is 70519.

Cade was named after Captain Cade. He was a sheriff in a nearby town called New Iberia for many years. Today, Cade is home to several interesting places. These include the Episcopal School of Acadiana, a food company called Bruce Foods, and the Spanish Trail Golf Course. It also has The Pines Ranch, which was Louisiana's first organic ranch. Unlike many small towns, Cade does not have its own police station or health center. However, the rates of crime and unemployment in Cade are low compared to the average for the U.S.

Where is Cade Located?

Cade is in the southwestern part of St. Martin Parish. It is located where two Louisiana highways meet: Highway 182 and Highway 92-1.

To the northwest on Highway 182, you can find the cities of Broussard, which is about 6 miles away, and Lafayette, about 13 miles away. Lafayette is the main city of Lafayette Parish. About 8 miles to the southeast is New Iberia, the main city of Iberia Parish.

Louisiana Highway 92-1 goes west about 7 miles to the city of Youngsville. It also goes northeast about 6 miles to St. Martinville. St. Martinville is the main city of St. Martin Parish. From St. Martinville, Highway 92-1 goes east 4 miles to meet Louisiana Highway 31. Then it goes 2 miles north to reach St. Martinville again.
