Calapooya Creek is a stream in Oregon, a state in the United States. It flows into the Umpqua River. The creek is about 37 miles (60 km) long. It is located in Douglas County.
The creek starts where its north and south forks meet. This area is in the mountains, south of the Calapooya Divide. It is also east of the towns of Oakland and Sutherlin.
From its start, Calapooya Creek generally flows southwest. It passes through or near a place called Nonpareil. Near Oakland, the creek flows under Oregon Route 99 and Interstate 5. Further downstream, it goes under Oregon Route 138. Finally, it joins the Umpqua River near the small community of Umpqua.
Bridges Over Calapooya Creek
The Rochester Covered Bridge crosses Calapooya Creek. This bridge carries Rochester Road. It is located about 3 miles (5 km) west of Sutherlin. The bridge was built in 1933. It has a special design with side windows that have curved tops.
