Caledonia is a small village located in Boone County, Illinois, United States. It is part of the larger Rockford, Illinois area. In 2020, about 183 people lived there.

Exploring Caledonia's Past
A post office was first set up in Caledonia in 1853. It was originally called Caledonia Station. Later, in 1883, its name was shortened to Caledonia. The name "Caledonia" is a classic literary name for Scotland. The Caledonia Congregational Church was founded in 1894.
On November 22, 2010, a strong tornado hit Caledonia. It was an EF-2 tornado, which means it was quite powerful. Several homes were damaged, and a large grain storage bin fell over. A local elementary school went into lockdown to keep students safe. Six people had minor injuries when a bus was pushed over by the wind.
