History of Camak
Camak became an official town in 1898. The Georgia General Assembly made it a town. Its borders stretched out half a mile from the Georgia Railroad station. The town was named after a man named James Camak. He was important in building railroads. His old home, the Camak House in Athens, is now a historic site. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
