Cameron Arthur Mathison (born August 25, 1969) is a Canadian-American actor and TV host. He is well-known for playing Ryan Lavery in the TV show All My Children from 1997 to 2011. Since 2021, he has been playing Drew Cain on General Hospital. Cameron has also appeared in many Hallmark movies.

Early Life and Education
Cameron Mathison was born on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He grew up with his parents, Bill and Loretta, and his older brother. Cameron went to Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ontario.
He later attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. While at McGill, he was the captain of the men's basketball team. He graduated in 1993 with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Cameron's Career Journey
After finishing university, Cameron Mathison started working as a model. He appeared in many commercials in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. This experience led him to take acting classes and begin his acting career in Toronto.
Starting in Film and TV
Cameron's first movie role was in 54. After that, he had a main role in the Canadian independent film Washed Up. In December 1997, he joined the cast of All My Children. He started filming his scenes on December 15 and first appeared on the show on January 12, 1998.
His acting on All My Children earned him recognition. He won the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Male Newcomer in 1999. He was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2002 and 2005. In 2000, People magazine named him one of "America's 100 Most Eligible Bachelors."
Dancing and Hosting TV Shows
In 2007, Cameron Mathison competed on the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars. He finished in 5th place with his professional dance partner, Edyta Śliwińska.
He also became a TV host and correspondent. In 2009, he joined Good Morning America as a regular correspondent. He covered many big events like the Oscars, Grammys, and Golden Globes. Cameron also hosted the Emmy-nominated show Ultimate Proposal and the home renovation show Game of Homes.
In April 2015, Cameron joined CBS's Entertainment Tonight. He worked as a full-time correspondent and weekend co-anchor for the entertainment news show. In July 2018, he became the new co-host of Home & Family alongside Debbie Matenopoulos.
Acting in Other Roles
Besides his main soap opera roles, Cameron has acted in many other TV shows and films. He appeared on Castle, Desperate Housewives, Hot in Cleveland, Drop Dead Diva, and the EXes.
In 2014, he started working with the Hallmark Channel. He starred in eight movies based on the Murder She Baked novels, acting opposite Alison Sweeney.
In April 2021, it was announced that Cameron Mathison would join the cast of General Hospital. He took on the role of Drew Cain and first appeared on the show on August 16, 2021. In November 2023, Cameron signed a new deal with Great American Family to star in several movies for them.
Personal Life
Cameron Mathison married model Vanessa Marie Arevalo on July 27, 2002. They have two children: a son born in April 2003 and a daughter born in July 2006. In July 2024, they announced their separation.
In September 2019, Cameron shared that he had been diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma, a type of kidney cancer. He took some time off for treatment. In January 2025, his home in Altadena, California was destroyed in the Eaton Fire.
