Cameron Arthur Mathison (born August 25, 1969) is a well-known Canadian-American actor and TV host. He is famous for playing Ryan Lavery in the TV show All My Children from 1997 to 2011. Since 2021, he has been playing Drew Cain on General Hospital. You might also know him from many popular movies on the Hallmark Channel.

Early Life and Education
Cameron Mathison was born on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. He grew up with an older brother. Cameron went to Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ontario.
After high school, he attended McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He was the captain of the McGill Redmen men's basketball team. In 1993, he earned a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Starting His Career
After finishing university, Cameron Mathison started working as a model. He appeared in many commercials in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. This led him to take acting classes and begin his acting career in Toronto.
First Acting Roles
Cameron made his first movie appearance in 54. After that, he played a main role in the Canadian independent movie Washed Up. In December 1997, he was chosen to play Ryan Lavery on the TV show All My Children. His first episode aired on January 12, 1998.
Awards and Recognition
Cameron Mathison quickly became popular. In 1999, he won the Soap Opera Digest Award for best new male actor. He was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award twice, in 2002 and 2005. In 2000, People magazine even named him one of "America's 100 Most Eligible Bachelors."
Television and Hosting Roles
In 2007, Cameron joined the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars. He danced with professional partner Edyta Śliwińska and finished in 5th place.
Good Morning America
Cameron started working with Good Morning America as a freelance reporter. In January 2009, he officially joined the show as a regular correspondent. He covered many big events for GMA, including the Oscars, Grammys, and Golden Globes. He also hosted the Emmy-nominated series Ultimate Proposal and the home renovation show Game of Homes.
Acting in Other Shows and Movies
Cameron continued to act in both funny and serious roles. He appeared in popular TV shows like Castle, Desperate Housewives, Hot in Cleveland, and Drop Dead Diva.
In 2014, he began working with the Hallmark Channel. He starred in eight movies based on the Murder She Baked novels, alongside Alison Sweeney.
Entertainment Tonight and Home & Family
In April 2015, Cameron joined CBS's Entertainment Tonight. He worked as a full-time correspondent and weekend co-anchor for the entertainment news show. On July 26, 2018, Cameron became the new co-host of Home & Family with Debbie Matenopoulos.
General Hospital and New Projects
In April 2021, it was announced that Cameron Mathison would join the cast of General Hospital. He started playing the role of Drew Cain in August 2021.
In November 2023, Cameron signed a new deal with Great American Family. This means he will star in several movies for them in the coming years, moving on from his work with Hallmark.
Personal Life
Cameron Mathison married model Vanessa Marie Arevalo on July 27, 2002. They have two children: a son born in April 2003 and a daughter born in July 2006.
In September 2019, Cameron shared that he was facing a health challenge. He took some time off for treatment and recovered well. In January 2025, his home in Altadena, California was unfortunately damaged in a house fire.
