Camille Simoine Winbush, born on February 9, 1990, is an American actress and singer. She is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows. You might recognize her as Emma Aimes from Minor Adjustments, Vanessa "Nessa" Thomkins from The Bernie Mac Show, or Lauren Treacy from The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Camille's acting has earned her several important awards, including three Image Awards and a Young Artist Award.

Camille Winbush's Early Life
Camille Winbush was born in Culver City, California, on February 9, 1990. She is the only child of Anthony and Alice Winbush. Camille did not go to regular public school. Instead, she was homeschooled and had a special tutor on set while she was acting as a child. When she was younger, Camille was also a competitive gymnast.
Camille Winbush's Acting Career
Camille Winbush started her acting journey on television in 1994. Her first role was Lucy Wilkes in the TV series Viper. The next year, she appeared in her first movie, Dangerous Minds.
Early TV and Film Roles
From 1995 to 1996, Camille regularly played Emma Aimes in the sitcom Minor Adjustments. Emma was the daughter of the main character, played by Rondell Sheridan. Camille even played Emma again in a Halloween episode of Brotherly Love.
She also appeared in the movie Eraser (1996) as a young girl named Camille. In 1999, she played Pearline, a character who loved books, in Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. Camille had a recurring role on the show 7th Heaven. She also lent her voice to the character Ashley Tomossian in the Disney cartoon Recess.
Breakthrough Role in The Bernie Mac Show
Camille Winbush got her big break in 2001 when she was cast as Vanessa Thomkins on The Bernie Mac Show. She played this role until the show ended in 2006. During her time on the show, Camille received many awards and nominations. She won three NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In 2006, she also won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) – Leading Young Actress.
Guest Appearances and Later Roles
Camille has made guest appearances on many other TV shows. These include Strong Medicine, Criminal Minds, That's Life, The Norm Show, NYPD Blue, and Any Day Now. In 2007, she was in an episode of Grey's Anatomy. Camille also acted in Disney's musical TV movie Geppetto.
From 2008 to 2013, Winbush played Lauren Treacy. This was a recurring role in the popular teen drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She was also cast as Miriam in the web series The Choir. Camille provided the voice for Rhonda in Children of Ether and Syrena in Cannon Busters. Both of these were animated productions by LeSean Thomas.
Other Projects and Businesses
In 2002, Camille Winbush recorded a song called "One Small Voice." She sang it with Myra and Taylor Momsen. She also recorded "The Night Before Christmas Song" for a holiday album. Camille also sang on the soundtrack for the Disney musical Geppetto.
When she was a teenager, Camille Winbush owned her own ice cream shop. It was called Baked Ice and was located in Pasadena, California. The shop opened in 2003. Her aunt helped supervise the store when Camille was busy. In 2004, Camille received a Teenpreneur Award from Black Enterprise magazine for her business. The ice cream shop was still open in 2005.
