Early Life and Music Start
Can Bonomo was born in İzmir, Turkey. His family is Sephardic Jewish. When he was 17, he moved to Istanbul to start his music career. He worked as a vocal productionist, helping other singers with their sound.
While working, Can Bonomo also studied TV and cinema at Istanbul Bilgi University. He had his own radio shows on popular stations like Number 1 FM and Radio101. Later, his shows were also on international TV channels such as MTV. He also wrote songs for other artists.
After becoming known for his music, Can Bonomo started writing poetry. He published his first poetry book, Delirmek Belirmektir, in 2014. He also created illustrations for his books.
Eurovision Song Contest 2012
In January 2012, Can Bonomo was chosen to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. This big music competition was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. In February 2012, he released his song for the contest, called "Love Me Back".
Can Bonomo performed his song in the final competition on May 26, 2012. He finished in seventh place. He was the last artist to represent Turkey at Eurovision. Turkey decided not to participate in the contest the following year and has not returned since.
