Canaan Street Lake is a lovely lake in New Hampshire, United States. It is located in Grafton County, which is in the western part of the state. The lake is found right in the town of Canaan.
This lake covers about 291 acres (118 ha) of water. That's like having over 200 football fields filled with water! It is part of a larger water system. The lake's water flows into the Mascoma River. This river then joins the big Connecticut River. This whole area is called a watershed, which means all the rain and water in this area eventually flows into these rivers.
What's Around the Lake?
Canaan Street Lake has some interesting places nearby. On the north side of the lake, there is a piece of land that sticks out into the water. This is called a peninsula. A school named Cardigan Mountain School is located on this peninsula.
On the west side of the lake, you can find the Canaan Street Historic District. A historic district is a special area where many old buildings and places are kept safe. They show what the area was like a long time ago. It's like a living museum!
