Canet de Mar is a cool town in Catalonia, Spain. It's located right on the coast, between two other towns called Arenys de Mar and Sant Pol de Mar. Canet de Mar is a popular spot for tourists. It's also known for growing beautiful flowers and tasty strawberries.
This town is famous for its amazing buildings in the Modernisme style. You can easily get here by car on the N-II road or the C-32 highway. There's also a train station that connects to Barcelona. Canet de Mar is in the province of Barcelona, about 43 kilometers (27 miles) from the big city of Barcelona.

Getting Around Canet de Mar
Canet de Mar has good ways to travel.
- The train station is part of the R1 line, which connects to Barcelona.
- There are also bus lines that can take you to nearby towns like Sant Pol de Mar and Calella.
- If you're driving, the C-32 highway and the N-II road run along the coast.
Awesome Beaches
Canet de Mar is on the beautiful Maresme Coast. Its beaches are sandy because of the granite rocks nearby. The beaches are mostly flat and wide, about 50 meters (164 feet) across. They have golden, thick sand and are easy to reach on foot or by bike.
The beaches are kept nice with coastal plants that are native to Catalonia. You'll see buoys 200 meters out in the water, marking safe swimming areas. There are also special channels for boats to enter and leave.
Canet Beach
Canet Beach is a city beach, about 1,500 meters (almost a mile) long. It's a great place to hang out! You'll find many spots to grab a bite or a drink along the seafront. This beach has often earned the "Blue Flag" award from the European Union. This means it's clean and safe.
Cavaió Beach
Cavaió Beach is about 1,000 meters (over half a mile) long. It's located between Canet Beach and the town of Arenys de Mar. This beach has sand mixed with granite rocks. There are plans to build a walkway that will connect it to Arenys de Mar. This project also includes building breakwaters to protect the beach from storms.

Buildings by Lluís Domènech i Montaner
Lluís Domènech i Montaner (1849-1923) was a famous Modernist architect. He spent his summers in Canet de Mar because his wife and later two of his sons were from there. He even retired to Canet to work on his research and books.
While in Canet, Montaner designed many buildings that are still standing today.
- Casa Montaner was his family home. It includes his studio, which was once a 16th-century farmhouse called Masia Racosa.
- Today, this complex is a museum dedicated to Montaner, who is sometimes called the "father of Modernism."
- Other works in town include the Ateneu de Canet and Casa Roura (now a restaurant).
- He also worked on the Castell de Santa Florentina and designed the Pantheon for his family.
