Canyon City is a small community found in Comal County, Texas, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 100 people lived there. It's part of the larger Greater San Antonio area.
A Look Back: History of Canyon City
Canyon City started to grow in the 1960s. This happened after Canyon Lake was finished in 1964. Most of the homes built here were for people to live in.
In 1970, the community had a population of 100 people. This number stayed the same all the way until the year 2000. Canyon City also experienced big floods in 1998 and again in 2002.

Canyon City is located on Farm to Market Road 306. It sits right by the Guadalupe River. The community is also just below Canyon Dam.
It is about 13 miles (21 km) northwest of New Braunfels. This area is in the northeastern part of Comal County. Today, Canyon City is part of the larger Canyon Lake community.
