Carenza Rachel Lewis (born 30 November 1963) is a British archaeologist and television presenter. She is well-known for her work on the TV show Time Team.

Early Life and Education
Carenza Lewis went to All Hallows Convent School in Norfolk. She then studied archaeology and anthropology at Girton College, Cambridge. This is where she learned about ancient cultures and human history.
Archaeology Career
In 1985, Carenza Lewis started working as an archaeologist. She joined the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England. Her job was to study historical sites in the Wessex area.
Researching Ancient Landscapes
During her time with the Commission, she worked with the University of Birmingham. She researched how settlements and landscapes were connected in the East Midlands. After this, she did a similar project in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. These projects helped us understand how people lived in the past.
Academic Achievements
Carenza Lewis became a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London in 1998. This is a special honor for people who study history and archaeology. In 1999, she became a visiting fellow at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge.
In 2004, she took on a new role at Cambridge. She worked to encourage more students to study archaeology. She also created a program called Access Cambridge Archaeology. In 2015, she became a professor at the University of Lincoln. Her role there is to help the public understand research better.
Television Work
Carenza Lewis became famous for her work on television. She helped make archaeology exciting for everyone to watch.
Joining Time Team
In the early 1990s, she joined the team for Time Team. This TV show aimed to make archaeology easy for everyone to understand. The first episode aired on Channel 4 Television in 1994.
She was on Time Team from 1993 to 2005. She appeared in the first twelve seasons of the show. Because Time Team was so popular, Carenza Lewis got more TV jobs. She also presented a series called House Detectives from 1997 to 2002.
Other TV Shows
In 2000, Carenza Lewis presented an episode of the BBC show What If. She explored what might have happened if Queen Boudicca's revolt against the Roman Empire had succeeded. She also created and presented a series called Sacred Sites for HTV.
In 2010, she appeared in the TV series Michael Wood's Story of England. More recently, in 2022, she rejoined the Time Team crew for its online revival on YouTube.
