In 2016, Carl performed in plays like Time Is On Our Side and Richard III. In September 2016, they joined the original cast of the famous musical Hamilton in Chicago.
Carl decided to try acting in TV and movies after watching the 2016 film Moonlight. They wrote in their journal that they wanted to be ready for similar opportunities in the future.
