Carlo Zotti, born on September 3, 1982, is a former professional footballer from Italy. He played as a goalkeeper during his career.

Carlo Zotti's Club Career

Carlo Zotti began his football journey in Foglianise, a town near Benevento, Italy. He started playing for a famous team called AS Roma. However, it was tough for him to get a lot of playing time with the main team. This was because Roma already had several experienced goalkeepers. He also had to compete with other young goalkeepers who were also trying to make it big.

Early Years at AS Roma

In 2004, Carlo Zotti signed a five-year contract with AS Roma. This showed that the club believed in his talent. To help him gain more experience, he was loaned to Ascoli Calcio 1898 in 2005. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team. This helps young players get more time on the field.

Moving to Other Teams

Carlo returned to Roma in the summer of 2006. But again, it was hard for him to play regularly. Roma had signed another goalkeeper, which made Carlo the fourth choice. Because of this, he played for the youth team, called the Primavera side, during the 2006–07 season. In January 2007, he was loaned out again, this time to UC Sampdoria.

In 2008, Carlo Zotti joined AS Cittadella, a team in Serie B, which is Italy's second-highest football league. He ended his contract with Roma by agreement. On January 28, 2009, he moved to AC Bellinzona. Later, in 2012, he joined another club. During a game in September 2012 against FC Winterthur, he had to leave the field because of an injury.

Carlo Zotti's International Career

Carlo Zotti also played for Italy's national youth teams. He was part of the Italy U21 squad that won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2004. Even though he was part of the winning team, he did not play in any of the matches. He was an unused substitute, meaning he was ready to play if needed.
