Carlos Alberto Leumann (1886–1952) was an Argentine writer. He was a talented poet, a dedicated teacher, and an essayist. An essayist is someone who writes short pieces of writing called essays.
Leumann wrote essays about science and big ideas like metaphysics. He also led the special literature section of a newspaper called La Nación. His poems were so good that they were included in collections of poems, known as anthologies, written in Spanish language.

Carlos Alberto Leumann was born in Santa Fe, Argentina, on August 17, 1886. When he was six years old, he became an orphan, meaning both his parents had passed away.
He was a very smart student. By the time he was 17, he had already graduated from the University of Buenos Aires. After finishing his studies, he became a professor who taught literature.
In 1916, Leumann worked as the main editor, or editor-in-chief, for a literary magazine called La Nota. This magazine was started and managed by Emin Arslan.
His Writing Journey
In 1927, Carlos Alberto Leumann published his first story that became very popular. It appeared in the newspaper La Nación.
He got married in 1936. He did not have any children. Leumann was also good friends with another famous writer, Enrique Banchs.
Carlos Alberto Leumann passed away on June 17, 1952, in Buenos Aires. He left behind many important works of literature.
