Carlos Mena started his journey in music by taking special classes with a famous countertenor named Charles Brett. In 1992, he moved to Switzerland to study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. This school is well-known for teaching old music from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
His teachers there were Richard Levitt and René Jacobs. Carlos worked hard and earned his music diploma in 1997.
