Carlos Esteban Montero Fernández (born on March 20, 1963, in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a well-known Argentine journalist and news anchor. He worked at CNN en Español for 20 years. He was famous for hosting shows like Café CNN and La Noticia de la Semana.

Carlos Montero is one of the most respected journalists in Latin America. He has worked in the news for over 30 years. He covered many important world events, both live from the scene and from the studio.
Early Life and Start in News
Carlos was born in Buenos Aires. He started his career in media very young, at just 15 years old. He worked as a production assistant for his father's company, Montero Producciones. Later, he studied Mass Media Communications at Appalachian State University in North Carolina.
Working at Big News Channels
Before joining CNN, Carlos worked at other major news channels. From 1989 to 1994, he was a reporter and producer for Univisión in Miami. He also worked as a correspondent for Telefé Noticias in Argentina.
In 1994, he became a host for Buenos Días América and América Noticias. He then joined NBC Canal de Noticias in 1996.
His Time at CNN en Español
Carlos Montero was part of the first team at CNN en Español when it started in 1997. He hosted the morning news show Al Día. Later, from 2011, he anchored Café CNN. He also appeared as an analyst on CNN International.
