Carme Pinós Desplat (born in 1954) is a famous Spanish architect. She is known for her unique and thoughtful building designs. Her work can be seen in many places around the world, from Spain to Mexico and Austria.

About Carme Pinós

Carme Pinós finished her architecture studies in Barcelona in 1979. She then studied Urbanism in 1981. From 1982 to 1991, she worked with her husband, Enric Miralles. Together, they designed many important buildings.

Some of their well-known projects include the Igualada Cemetery Park. They also designed the Archery Range Buildings for the 1992 Summer Olympic Games in Barcelona. Another project was the La Llauna School in Badalona. Their work won several awards during this time.

In 1991, Carme Pinós started her own architecture studio. She continued to work on projects that had begun earlier. These included community centers and a boarding school.

Besides designing buildings, Carme Pinós also teaches. She has been a guest professor at many famous universities. These include the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Columbia University in New York. She also taught at Harvard University.

Carme Pinós has designed many different types of buildings and spaces. Her work includes bridges, waterfronts, and schools. She also designed parks and office buildings.

One of her notable projects is the Cube Tower in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She also designed the Gardunya Square in Barcelona. This square includes a housing building and the Massana Fine Arts School.

Her designs have been shown in many art galleries and museums. These include the MOMA in New York. The model of her Cube Tower is part of MOMA's permanent collection. This means it is always on display there.
