Carmen Salinas Lozano (born October 5, 1939 – died December 9, 2021) was a famous Mexican actress, comedian, and even a politician. She was also known for starting her own theatre shows. Many people thought she was one of the first important actresses in Mexico. She acted in more than 100 movies and TV shows!
She was well-known for her roles in popular TV shows like María Mercedes, La rosa de Guadalupe, and La familia P. Luche. She also starred in movies such as Hombre en llamas and Abrázame muy fuerte.
Carmen Salinas was born in Torreón, a city in Coahuila, Mexico.
Becoming a Politician
Carmen Salinas was interested in politics for a long time. In 2015, she shared that she had always supported the PRI political party.
That same year, her party chose her to be a representative in the Chamber of Deputies. This is like a part of the Mexican government where people make laws. She won a seat and worked on important topics like equal rights for everyone, radio and television rules, and health. Carmen Salinas had only finished primary school, which means she had the lowest level of education among all the representatives in that group.

Her Final Years
On November 11, 2021, Carmen Salinas had a stroke. This happened because of high blood pressure. She was taken to the hospital and went into a coma. Sadly, she never woke up. Carmen Salinas passed away a month later, on December 9, 2021, in Mexico City. She was 82 years old.
